Joanne has been my Practice Manager since 2008 and is an invaluable team member. She has worked in the financial services industry for over 35 years working for Equitable Life and later HBOS where she gained her Financial Planning Certificates.
Joanne is responsible for managing the office and coordinating the team. Joanne also specialises in the preparation of reports for pension planning and investment transfers, Inheritance Tax Planning and later life planning. Joanne is extremely professional, provides excellent client care and her loyalty, professionalism and work ethics are second to none.
Joanne enjoys running, and also enjoys walking particularly in the beautiful Lake District hills and spending time with her family. Joanne has three daughters, Sophie, Lucy and Amy.
Gillian, my wife, joined the Practice in June 2012. Gillian previously worked in the Construction Industry as a Health and Safety Adviser, so she is accustomed to dealing with legal compliance. Gillian has a BSc (Hons) in Construction Management, a diploma in Health and Safety and also a Law Degree (Common Professional Examination).
Gillian has also recently achieved a Diploma in Financial Planning and is a member of the CII. This increase in technical knowledge has proved invaluable within the office.
Working alongside Joanne, Gillian prepares reports for pension planning and investment transfers, inheritance tax planning and later life planning.
Outside the office Gillian loves spending time with our family, is a keen runner and enjoys music and reading.
Originally from Dundee, Marc has been based in the North East since 2004 and obtained a BSc (Hon) degree in Sport Science.
Marc was a professional footballer for sixteen years based in Scotland, where he also combined his passion for golf as Director of Sales for prominent hotels, based in both St Andrews and North Berwick.
Marc joined the Practice in 2016 and later this year, will begin working towards Chartered status.
The quality of advice given, along with building a trusting relationship, is really important to Marc.
Away from the office, Marc enjoys spending time with his family, is a fair-weather golfer and a very keen cyclist.
Jayne, my sister, has worked for me for over 15 years in a marketing role. Jayne previously worked for a large furniture manufacturer in the West Midlands in a customer services and marketing role.
When I moved to the North East to join St. James’s Place, Jayne had to adapt her marketing strategy in-line with my new role, location and changing requirements, which she did quickly and effectively while maintaining the customer focus.
Jayne’s key roles involve the marketing for the Practice, organising client seminars and events and managing my calendar.
Jayne has been married for over 25 years and has two boys, Josh and Zak. She loves spending time with her family and has an active interest in interior design and fashion.
Judith is the longest serving member of my business and has worked for me from the start of my career in Financial Services, almost 20 years ago. Although her job role has changed slightly over the years Judith has proved time and again her ability to adapt to these new demands and changes in her role.
Judith is predominately responsible for liaising with business clients and providing help and support to Jayne.
Judith enjoys spending time with her family, which has increased over the years to include two grandchildren, although her family are now split between America and Birmingham she takes every opportunity to visit each of them, as family is really important to her. She also enjoys catching up with friends and has an active role in helping the elderly within her community.
My Brother-in-law David joined the team in 2014. David was a qualified Internal Auditor who had worked in the Civil Service for a number of years; most recently as a Senior Internal Auditor in Central Government. Since joining us, David has become Diploma qualified and is now progressing well, towards becoming a Chartered Financial Planner.
Through working knowledge and study David has become a keen expert in the field of pension planning; both the accumulation of pension arrangements and options at retirement. With an increasing number of enquiries in respect of the specialist area of defined benefit pensions this has proven very helpful.
David continues to support the team and clients in all other areas of financial planning, including investment and pension planning, auto-enrolment, Inheritance Tax Planning, and Protection Planning.
Away from work David enjoys time with his two children and is a keen golfer.
Rebeka started in September 2014 as an apprentice after completing her A-Levels at St.Joseph’s Academy. She is now a member of the CII and has recently achieved her Diploma in Financial Planning through the St. James’s Place Paraplanner Academy which she joined in April 2018.
Rebeka’s role when she first started with the company was general administration but it has developed and now involves processing applications and preparing reports for all areas of Investment, Pension and Protection Planning. Rebeka also assists the team by collating information from various providers for clients existing arrangements.
Outside the office, Rebeka enjoys spending time reading, going out with friends and keeping fit.
Kate joined us in February 2017 and has recently completed an apprenticeship in Business Administration. Prior to this, Kate worked as a Merchandiser and Product Assistant for a large department store.
Kate’s role involves the preparation of documentation for all my meetings, as well as assisting Rebeka in sourcing and checking information regarding client’s existing pensions and investments. Kate also assumes all areas of general office administrative duties and thereby provides invaluable support to all members of the Practice.
In her spare time, Kate enjoys visiting National Trust properties with her family and also has strong interests in music, photography and fashion.
